A Day in the life of an Insurance Agent

Most agencies are open standard business hours (9 am to 5 pm); however some of our agents come in early or stay late to get ahead on their work.

When the office opens for business, the telephone rings quite often throughout the day.The phone volume increases greatly when there has been a large weather disaster in the area. During these times, it can be highly stressful for both agents and customers.

Throughout the day, our agents are taking calls with customers, responding to emails/faxes and processing paperwork. They are constantly using critical thinking and problem solving skills. Our owners are usually out of the office meeting with clients, obtaining new business andnetworking at conferences. Everyone is dedicated to providing the best service to our customers in any way that we can. We aim to save our clients time and money, while also educating them about their different policies and coverages.

At our agency, you would either hear laughter from someone telling a joke or the radio playing the Top 40s and classics. Fridays are especially jovial when some of our agents order lunch from one of the local restaurants. We have fun days like Blue Jean Fridays and birthday parties. Occasionally, there might be a nice treat sitting on top of the file cabinet for everyone to share. Our customers feel comfortable enough to stop by the office whenever they’re in the area.Overall, it’s a friendly professional environment.
