This week is Fire Prevention week

This year’s theme of the Springfield Fire Department is “Have 2 Ways Out!” When it comes to
fires in your homes, it is important to have two escape routes in case one is
blocked by smoke or fire. They will also have a booth at Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce Festival and Car Show on October 14th in front of Town Hall starting at 11am.

We will also have a booth at the Festival where we’re having
a raffle to win a kindle and many other giveaways. We had so much fun at the
Millburn Street Fair on September 23^rd. You can see pictures on our Facebook page. Big THANK
YOU to everyone who stopped by our booth.

On that same Sunday from 1 pm – 4 pm the Springfield Fire
Department will host its 5^th Annual Open House at the Fire
Headquarters. Plenty of fun activities will take place including:

Tour of the fire house

·        
Display of the brand new Engine 4

·        
Children activities including using a fire hose
to knock down wooden flames

·        
Roof ventilation demonstration at 1:30pm

·        
Vehicle extrication demonstration at 3pm
