My car just got broken into

We all hope and pray that it will never happen to us,
however car theft is very common. You should never leave things in your car in plain
view such as bags or money — even if it is just loose change. Don’t assume
because you are in a ‘good’ neighborhood or parked by important buildings i.e.
hospital or post office that your car will be safe. Always lock your doors and
NEVER leave your windows cracked.

 Two steps that you
must take are:

Call the police first
– You should always report it to the police – even if you don’t notice any
damage or items stolen. This will put the police on alert of car thefts in your
area. You might also notice something later on that you will want to add to the
police report.

Call us next. If
there is damage or items stolen, it may be covered under your insurance policy.

Things that will help the insurance company with
investigating your claim:

·
The police report

·
Pictures of any damage

·
Estimates or invoices of how much it will cost
to have the damage repaired

We hope all our insureds will take the necessary precautions
to keep their personal property safe. Like this article share on Facebook,
