Winter Driving
It’s not even officially winter however, there has been one
snowstorm and a day of snow that didn’t stick (Thankfully!) Winter driving
brings about all types of risks from having to drive during a snow storm, icy
roads, and deer crossings. Obviously, it also brings major cleaning off of
roadways, highways and our cars. It doesn’t snow as much in NJ as in Washington
state but their Department of Transportation has some great advice on how to
prepare for another winter season. They’re the real pros when it
comes to dealing with cold conditions.
An interesting point that they made were “Four-wheel and
all-wheel drive vehicles do not stop or
steer better on ice.” Many people drive these types of cars in storms
believing that they have nothing to fear when they could be putting themselves
in more danger. The Washington Department of Transportation also talked about
Avalanche control. Glad we don’t have that problem. That’s just downright
scary.
Be safe everybody!
