April is also Stress Awareness Month
One of the best ways to de-stress is exercise. Everyone
always makes the excuse that they have no time to exercise. It only takes 20 minutes every day to achieve the
recommended level of exercise. If you do an hour workout, then you don’t have
to work out every day.
Other excuses we use are we don’t have the proper equipment
or we don’t have the money for a gym membership.
Who says you need to
go to a gym?
You don’t need an expensive bowflex to get a decent workout.
Nor do you need to sign up for a gym membership to complete your New Year’s
goal of losing 20 pounds.
Most department stores such as Target and Wal-Mart have
cheap exercise equipment like dumbbells. Even dollar stores such as Five Below
carry small exercise equipment. You can also use things around the house such
as bottles of water or soup cans. Of course, we’re talking about for light
workouts, NOT intense body building
routines.
Don’t know where to
start?
Consult YouTube. Type in “20 minute beginner workout” in the
search box and you will find PLENTY of videos. You will never get bored
with your routine.
Most of all what you need is motivation! This is where having a buddy comes in. Grab your spouse
or your best friend and work out together. It makes great bonding time.
*Consult your doctor before starting any exercise routine.*
