Could we see helmet-dispensers in the near future?

Helmethub creates solar-powered helmet dispensers to support city biking programs.  Users will be able to rent the helmets and return them at the end of their trip. The hubs also display how many helmets are available and where one could get more.

These could be helpful in New York that has the bike sharing program sponsored by CitiBank. It is hazardous driving in the city, let alone riding your bike in the city. Anything that would increase the safety of cyclists is good thing.  In NYC, Cyclists are not allowed to ride on the sidewalk allows or wheels are less than 26 inches in diameter and rider is twelve years or younger..

One must be at least 16 years old to ride Citi Bike. Bicycles are defined as vehicles under New York State law. That means cyclists have all the rights and are subject to all of the duties and regulations applicable to drivers of motor vehicles.
